The annual MTIA Convention/MTI Week will take place a week earlier than usual to coincide with the Air Force hosting the annual All-Service Drill Instructor Symposium. This is going to be a great opportunity for our Association to show case not only Air Force Basic Training, but to show the other Services the incredible esprit de corps that all Military Training Instructors possess.
It all kicks off on October 7, 2023, at 1800, with the Blue Rope Ball, which is being held at Pedrotti's Ranch located at 13715 FM 1560, Helotes, TX 78023. The cost is $35.00 per person.
On October 9, 2023, at 1600, there will be a Cornhole Tournament before the Early Bird Reception that begins at 1800. Both events will be held at the Airman's Heritage Museum on Joint Base Lackland-San Antonio.
On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, breakfast will be provided beginning at 0800 in the Pfingston Reception Center (PRC). The BMT Immersion Briefing will begin promptly at 0830. At 0930 the MTIA will conduct its annual Membership Meeting. The BMT Golf Tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1300 at the Gateway Hills Golf Course. The cost is $50.00 per person. There are limited slots available so contact a BMT Representative as soon as possible to reserve your spot. Immediately following the golf tournament, the Tiger Stripe Social will be held at Stillmann Park, where prizes from the golf tournament will be presented and everyone will be provided a free BBQ meal.
On Wednesday, October 11, 2023, the day's events begin with the Airman's Run at the PRC. For those who desire to march in the current and former MTI Mass at Thursday's Parade, the mandatory practice for all participants will be at 1130 at the Lackland Parade Field. At 1230 there will be a Professional Development Seminar at the PRC. The Honors Banquet will kick off at 1800 at the Gateway Club. Dress is casual.
It's a Great Day for a Parade! On Thursday, October 12, 2023, parade practice for all participants begins at 0730. Adjutant's Call will sound at 0900 and the Blue Rope/Trainer/Rookie of the Year Parade will begin at that time. Afterwards, everyone will migrate to the MTI Monument where those three individuals will be recognized. Afterwards, there will be group photograph of all participants. The final formal event of the Convention will take place at 1230 at the PRC, where the final Professional Development Seminar will be conducted.
